Collaborating with the University of Brighton to unlock big data for artists, tech entrepreneurs and small businesses.

What we did

  • Brand strategy
  • Visual identity
  • User experience design
  • Website design and build

DRIVA Arts DRIVA (Digital Research & Innovation Value Accelerator) is a free programme set up to combine the skills, assets and resources of creatives, technologists and data scientists to generate new business growth in the Coast to Capital region.

We were asked to create a recognisable, striking brand for the programme, and to design, develop and deploy a user-centred membership platform that would both enable seamless networking and deliver on robust research targets.

William Joseph are without doubt a top-dollar creative UX agency. They are also however, patient, kind, trustworthy and flexible and terribly familiar with the complexities of public sector digital transformation. Or, as I apparently put it in the vernacular, ‘you guys are f***ing legends.’ Recommended without reservation it seems!

A digital, flexible identity

DRIVA Arts DRIVA is focused on drawing together different disciplines under the umbrella of digital technologies to enable new business opportunities. It followed that the visual identity should be flexible, bold and digital-first.

DRIVA refer to this process of bringing people together as ‘superfusion’. We created an adaptable graphic device representing this concept, linking two polygons in perpetual fusion.

The visual identity expanded on this device, using a vibrant RGB colour palette and a linear illustration style.

A robust user-led research platform

With the DRIVA programme needing to fulfil various funding, research and engagement goals, the entire platform was geared towards user engagement.

We carefully mapped the user journeys and designed nudges along the way to encourage repeat usage and sustained engagement across the whole programme.

Building the site to incorporate ways to identify and track key KPIs has resulted in an engaging user-led platform that really delivers on its research objectives too.
