Our research indicates that current electric vehicle (EV) owners tend to represent the ‘innovator’ and ‘early adopter’ categories of the technology adoption curve. The conditions necessary for EV adoption to go beyond these groups are not currently in place; drivers who represent the ‘early majority’ group lack the knowledge, information and confidence they need to be convinced that EVs are a good option.
