Our impact 2021
As a certified B Corp, we are legally bound to consider people, planet and profit when making decisions
This report is a deep dive into the impact that those decisions are having on the world around us.
We have used the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals as a framework to allow us to categorise and measure our impact.
In the future we hope to make even more of a difference to the communities in which we operate – in particular helping people access our industry from backgrounds that are different from our own. We also want to create a more equal and transparent organisation where decisions are made by as wide a group as possible.
Finally, we want to increase our impact on the UN SDGs that we are currently missing, specifically around climate change and environmental sustainability. We will be doing so by offering significant commercial discounts on those projects to both charities and companies who can demonstrate an impact in this area.
If you’d like to find out more about a potential partnership, please get in touch at info@williamjoseph.co.uk
To certify as a B Corp, a company must achieve a minimum of verified score of 80 points on the B Impact Assessment. We achieve 98.9 but want to do much more to improve our score in areas such as environment and governance.
Reporting impact against the UN SDGs
By choosing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as our reporting framework, we can directly link our work at William Joseph and for our clients, to a larger programme of socially positive works. While not perfect, the SDGs cover a wide range of positive initiatives that we can genuinely contribute towards.
We have mapped our own activities and the work we deliver to clients against the 17 goals. This gives us a heatmap of where we need to focus our efforts over the coming year, to better improve the world for all our communities.
We’ll be looking across both the clients we partner with and the way that we operate William Joseph to better impact the goals we are currently underperforming against.
